Palette Panel Dialog Guide

Add, replace, pin, and clean up colours in the palette safely.

The palette panel helps you control colour complexity and readability.

Common actions

  • Add colour: include a missing colour manually.
  • Replace colour: swap one DMC colour for another.
  • Replace symbol: choose clearer symbols.
  • Pin/unpin: keep important colours fixed.

Multi-select and bulk actions

You can select multiple colours and:

  • pin/unpin together
  • delete unpinned colours in one go

This is useful when cleaning noisy palettes.

When to edit palette manually

  • Too many very similar shades.
  • Hard-to-read symbol combinations.
  • Needed consistency with another pattern in a set.

Safe workflow

  1. Save current version.
  2. Make palette changes.
  3. Check preview and symbol readability.
  4. Export simulation to compare if needed.
